Who We Are

Somali Aid and Relief Association (SARA) was established in 2017 in response to the protection of human rights, saving and improving the lives of the most vulnerable, poorest, and marginalized families affected by poverty and/or crisis, eradicate poverty and empower women and children to reach their full potential.

The purposes of established SARA are protecting human rights, saving and improving lives, building resiliency and creating lasting solution to hunger, extreme poverty, illiteracy and inequalities empowering women and children to reach their full potential.

SARA is a Registered, Women Right Organization, non-profit, SARA is a Humanitarian relief, development and advocacy association, SARA Provides humanitarian and development services and social development of citizens in general, and for the poor families led by woman in particular.

SARA is a top Somali woman association occupied in the fields of Food Security and Livelihoods, Education (Basic education & TVE), Human rights and Protection (Including GBV’s & SRHR), WASH and Environment, Health and nutrition.

A sustainable Somalia where women’s and children of most vulnerable, marginalized and disadvantaged families have equal opportunities to survive and succeed.

SARA’s Mission is Working with communities to advocate and protect human rights, save and improve lives of most vulnerable, poorest and marginalized families affected by poverty and/or crisis, and empower women and children to reach their full potential.

Our commitment to being accountable is embedded in our community and our partners: We are a National NGO committed to the poor, Partners and value people. We recognize the need to earn the trust of all our stakeholders, being a good custodian of the donor resources, accountability to our partners and above all being responsive to the voices of the communities we serve.
